Geneva ‘nevadeva’ Bowden
Neva is a visionary poet who writes of her inner most thoughts. As a visionary poet, Neva allows her audience to walk with her through every word. Neva uses poetry to show that energy and faith exists in all of us.
It all started at the age of ten when the poet Geneva Bowden, poetically known as nevadeva was given a Holly Hobbie writing journal. She began to creatively write about the most profound of things that could possibly come out the mind of a ten year old. It wasn't until she saw Nikki Giovanni at a 1984 performance at Norfolk State University that she felt the love of the spoken word in a poetic form. In the late 1980s during the 2nd wave of speakeasy poetry nevadeva put her shyness aside and began performing at open mics around New York City. In 1998, her poem entitled “Me Is Me” published in an independent Hip-Hop magazine called UNDERGROUND XPOSURE. She also appeared on the WHCR 90.3 FM program –“Sounds of Harlem” on the campus of City College. nevadeva made her first Apollo Theatre debut in January of 1999 as a special guest performer for the Monday Night Poetic Battles and she also had the opportunity of performing at Harlem's famous Lenox Lounge.
nevadeva is a writer, student and entrepreneur. She is also the founder of royally naturale, an online venue created authentically for the au naturale U. She currently lives in Hampton,VA with her husband Duke and their dog Mina. As a pioneer of both the poetic world and the natural hair community, nevadeva is BACK.
Nina C. Brewton
After overcoming depression, alcoholism and sexual promiscuity, Nina continues to grow stronger, gaining energy and wisdom from her Heavenly Father.
For over a decade, this native of Wichita, KS and veteran of the United States Air Forces has grown stronger in spirit. Starting out on the VA/MD/DC open mic scene, she found her voice and groomed her sound into the rich alto that ushers in the Spirit in Sunday morning worship services and in midnight solitary welcoming personal healing worship experiences.
Even before 2003 when she was delivered from her chains of bondage, she had been shown her sole purpose in life, which is to encourage others to do better for themselves, through knowledge of self, increased self-esteem and through general life skills; in turn, building healthier relationships, families and communities. As an artist and motivational speaker, she has facilitated workshops and interacted with students at a variety of schools to include Richmond Preparatory School, Duke and Longwood Universities and public venues throughout Virginia, Washington D.C., Baltimore and Raleigh just to name a few.

Privette, Sr., she serves as a volunteer with CRAVE Youth Ministry, as well as a vocalist in the church's music ministry.
