About the Causes: Beautiful Kids & SheMatters G.I.R.L.S.

In an effort to serve the children in our community and abroad, this event will benefit Beautiful Kids Organization.  Their goals are to provide wigs to children living with alopecia and funding researcher, and they serve children all over the country.  Beautiful Kids was found by visionary Mrs. Tie-She Thomas Matthews, and has been the Peninsula's premier organization focusing on finding a cure for Alopecia. Beautiful Kids help hundreds of children from the area cope with trying to live a "normal" life and restore their dignity. Here is their website: http://www.beautifulkidsnonprofit.org.

Also, in an effort to serve the women in our community and many others, this event will serve as a drop-off location for the EBeauty Wig Exchange Program to benefit EBeauty Community, Inc.  EBeauty is a non-profit organization that supports women undergoing chemotherapy by providing the help they need to restore their self-image and confidence during cancer treatment. Donated wigs are tax deductible and will be cleaned and refurbished to look new.  All attendees have an opportunity to help support another beautiful woman undergoing treatment by donating a wig. They can be found at www.ebeauty.com.

Lastly, this event will benefit She'Matters: G.I.R.L.S.,LLC. GIRLS stands for Girls who Inspire & Refine Limitless Standards.  The girls for who this non-profit organization works with are Girls who Inspire and Refine Limitless Standards in their lives, families, schools and communities. They offer engaging and empowering workshops for our tweens girls (10-13) that focus on social poise and etiquette and self-determination. They recognized the urgency and importance of teaching our tweens who they are and helping them to acknowledge their TRUE potential and worth. Through their workshops and various events, these young ladies then give back to the community and promote economic awareness and civic responsibility.  For more information on this organization, visit them online at www.facebook.com/groups/shematters or http://www.shemattersgirls.webs.com.

Conference attendees will also be able to purchase raffle tickets in order to enter to win giveaways provided by event sponsors and vendors.  To make a donation, visit http://CurlsforaCause2012.eventbrite.com.
